GCPL Staff MakerCamps - 3d Printing and design workshop for Library employees
To address a growing interest in 3D printing as a part of STEAM programming hosted by Gwinnett County Public Library staff, I designed, developed, and delivered Train-the-Trainer-style learning on 3D design and printing by leveraging Google Classroom as both a learning management and social tool. Combining both free and subscription-based learning resources, the course consists of asynchronous online courses, required readings and related discussion posts, and hands-on 3D design projects. The course culminates in a facilitated, hand-on session in which each staff member prints 3D objects designed during the course.
google apps & you: st joseph county public library - virtual staff day presentation
St. Joseph County Public Library moved to Google Apps for Business shortly before their annual Staff Day and I was invited to host a virtual session on my Top 5 Google Apps Tools, Tips, and Tricks. Employing every Google Apps resource at my disposal, including Google Hangouts as a web conferencing tool, I was able to create an interactive session that introduced staff to a few of the my favorite features available to users in Google Apps. The session was also recorded and shared with staff unable to attend the live session.
MAKERCAMP: Polylactic-acid, Partnerships, and payouts - carterette series webinar
As a part of the Georgia Library Association's Carterette Series of webinars, I presented, alongside Michael Casey on our work at Gwinnett County Public Library to partner with school librarians to host a 3D Printing camp open to high school students from across Gwinnett County. GCPL's Makercamps utilize online tutorials and web-based 3D design tools to guide students through the process of designing a 3-dimensional object and bringing their design to life; from imagination to creation. An archived version of the webinar is available.
